The Life of a Cephalapod: Reverse Racism is a myth created by racist white people
Who believe that sporadic, interpersonal acts of hostility from people of color is equivalent or relevant to the struggle of people of color from oppression.
Even if a person of color is hateful against white people, it has nothing to do with the thought of whites being…
It’s pathetic that people are trying to excuse hatred towards others like this. Racism= discriminating based on race. It doesn’t matter what race. And for the love of god, stop acting like your personal experiences and the way it is where you live are the same for everyone else. You cannot categorically say that no white person ever experiences discrimination because they are white.
Actually, you’re right. Reverse racism doesn’t exist. It’s just called racism.
Dear god, thedreamisended, racism = privilege + prejudice. White people have privilege, so they can be racists, but POC do not have race-based privilege, so cannot be racists towards white people. It’s simple.
A POC can discriminate against white a white person, but since that discrimination is not grounded in centuries of systematic oppression, it’s not racism.
I don’t understand why this shit is so hard for people to understand.Merriam-Webster definition of racism: 1. a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. 2. racial prejudice or discrimination
Racism: thinking black people are somehow less, thinking Asians are always geniuses, thinking that all white people are assholes and should automatically shut the fuck because they are white.
I’m not arguing that white people don’t have privilege. It happens and it’s wrong. But that doesn’t mean that discriminating against a person because they are white is a-ok. Also, thanks for informing me that nowhere in the world do POC have power. I look forward to your detailed blog about your travels to everywhere.
Don’t make up your own definition of a word and then argue based on that. I don’t understand why this shit is so hard for people to understand.
I’m not making my own definition, if you have never seen that definition before, that is not my issue, you should probably research the issue more before running your mouth. Google would be a good start. Stop derailing re. ‘White people aren’t universally privileged, like you know everything’, because it’s pretty transparent and childish. So is repeating what people have said in a failed attempt to reinforce your argument, but I’m guessing you knew that already!
Dictionaries are written, on the whole, by upper-middle class white cis men, and they don’t reflect intersectionality or privilege, so they aren’t accurate portrayals of what words REALLY mean in society, when it comes to any of the ‘ism’s.
Nobody said discrimination is ok, if you would care to utilise some basic comprehension skills and re-read my post, you would see that I said ‘discrimination against white people is not racism’, not ‘discrimination against whites is ok’. Your inability to distinguish between those two phrases means you’re not worth further engagement with, because it’s hard to hold a discussion when one person is unable to differentiate between vastly different statements.

Yeah, the term “reverse racism” (when used in this negative context) makes me vomit. It’s racism. Plain. Racism.
