Anonymous asked: youre saying girls cant want guys who are aggressive and hate guys who are needy? cause everyone has a type
No, not at all. Everyone is free to hold preferences as to the personality of potential romantic partners.
What I’m saying is that you shouldn’t link those personality traits or behaviours to gender, because that’s oppressive. The problem is not that someone wants a stoic or dominant partner, the problem is people suggesting that those traits are what make someone a ‘real man’.
I’m also suggesting that you shouldn’t use labels dripping in misogyny, like ‘bitch’ and ‘pussy’ to define behaviours that you see as undesirable, because wanting lots of affection is not a female thing, and the only reason it is considered so is because the patriarchy would have you believe women are intrinsically weak and needy. In doing that, you are just reinforcing negative views of your own gender.
All I’m saying is don’t gender the traits, and don’t oppress people. There is no right or wrong way to be a gender, just as there is no form of gender expression which is more valid than any other.
